A stylized walk cycle exploring public image, ego, and embarrassment; all in one looping frame.
This was the project:
Created during a Studio Still assignment, this animation features a satirical take on Kanye West’s personal “walk of shame.” With exaggerated motion and signature details—like his oversized red “balloon” jacket—the piece pokes fun at celebrity image and public downfall.
Challenge
Design a humorous walk cycle of a public figure facing their personal “walk of shame,” capturing personality through motion in just a few seconds.
My approach
I leaned into stylization—slumped posture, dragging steps, and oversized clothing—to reflect both the weight and absurdity of public embarrassment. Color and rhythm helped push the tone further.

The final animation features Kanye’s character gradually inflating with each step, until a hyper-realistic hand enters the frame and pops the balloon-like jacket with a sharp needle. The hand was created through rotoscoping my own, creating a stark contrast between the cartoon world and the intrusion of reality. This visual break emphasizes the theme: no ego is too big to burst, yet some keep walking regardless. After the explosion, Kanye steps right back into the frame, unbothered and ready to begin again. The loop reflects his unshakable confidence and ongoing presence, no matter the criticism. I’m proud of how the concept, tone and animation all work together to make something bold and thought-provoking.
