ABOUT
Ever wondered what would happen if classic Disney characters starred in a vintage comic book? Well, I did—and I made it happen! For this project, I took an old-school comic cover and gave it a fresh twist with Alice in Wonderland. The goal? Merge two completely different styles while keeping the storytelling alive.
GOAL
The challenge was more than just swapping characters; I needed to make the scene feel like a real Wonderland disaster. And who better to cause chaos than the Mad Hatter? I chose Alice in Wonderland because I’ve always loved drawing these characters, and let’s be honest—painting the roses red (or in this case, repainting them) was just asking for trouble. So here we are: the Mad Hatter flailing in the water, clinging to a suspiciously fresh-looking rose, while the Queen of Hearts absolutely loses it. Alice? She’s just trying to survive.

RESULT
The final cover keeps the vintage comic aesthetic but brings that signature Disney charm. I matched the composition, colors, and typography to the original, making it feel authentic while still adding my own twist. The end result? A comic cover that feels like it could be real—but with way more tea-related disasters.

Bringing Alice to life meant nailing her character design first. This GIF shows a turn-around of Alice—because even in Wonderland, things don’t appear out of thin air!

Before I jumped into the final artwork, I sketched out the composition to get the balance just right. This is where the chaos started taking shape—because you can’t have Wonderland without a little madness.
